Escondido Renaissance Faire 2024 in California

Escondido Renaissance Faire is a popular medieval-themed event, held two times per year, in the fall and in the spring. The fall event has a Pirate theme. Faire takes place in Felicita Park, Escondido, during two or three magnificent weekends. Hundreds of costumed characters include royals, fairies, pirates, and knights. Quality entertainment, craft, and apparel vendors, period food, and beverages attract thousands of attendees to the Escondido Renaissance Faire.

Program of the Faire

Visitors have an opportunity to immerse in the Elizabethan Era, watching battles, drinking ale in the pub, or shopping for medieval garments. The highlights of the faire include Queen's Quest and Parade, a full-contact Jousting tournament, a Battle Pageant, and an Archery Tournament. In addition, the public can see battle reenactments, Battle for the Bone, jugglers, dancers, storytellers, live music on two stages, and much more.

Stage performances include Gallows Humor, Tottendanse, The Unquiet Grave, and Her Majesty's Minstrel Cycle. Adults can relax at King Richard’s Tavern, enjoying beer, ale, mead, and wine. Plenty of activities await the little ones in the Kid’s Zone.

Shchedule

Escondido Renaissance Faire opens its gates at 10 am. The Queen parade takes place at noon, followed by the Battle Pageant, the Battle for the Bone, the Archery Tournament at 3 pm, and, finally, the Jousting Tournament at 4 pm. The gates close at 5 pm.

Marketplace

Escondido Renaissance Faire Marketplace is a great place to shop for handcrafted clothes, weapons, period jewelry, musical instruments, and various trinkets. The list of vendors includes Age of Chilvery, Celtic Twist, Laced Up Corset, Royal River Gems, Unicornicopia, Autumn Gypsy, Big Hat Pirate, Blackbeard, My Fairy Tail, Surly Herbalist, and others. Fair food options include vendors like Boars Head, Grumpy Bear BBQ, Maraposa Ice Cream Oscars Meat Pies, and Temple Slain.

Tickets

General admission to the Escondido Renaissance Faire is $27 for a one-day ticket. Children (5-11 yrs) pay $12. Children under 5 get in for free. Each group over 10 people can get a 20% discount on tickets, if they are purchased in advance. The parking fee is $3 per car. Costumes are encouraged, but not required.
