Long Beach Jazz Festival 2024 in Los Angeles

The only jazz festival in Southern California

Held since the 1990s, the Long Beach Jazz Festival is now Southern California’s longest-running jazz event. The three-day jazz festival takes place in the beautiful Rainbow Lagoon Park, Long Beach. It features many famous jazz musicians with a focus on contemporary jazz, fusion, R&B, gospel, funk, soul, and blues. Hot summer nights by the waterfront are meant to be contributed by great jazz, with musicians like Marcus Miller, Poncho Sanchez, Everette Harp, Chante Moore & Doc Powell, Nick Colionne, Eric Roberson, and Nick Smith. This event shouldn't be missed by jazz fans!

2024 Lineup

On Friday, the festival features Danish-American saxophonist Michael Lington & American jazz vocalist and pianist Nathan Mitchell, the saxtress of smooth jazz Janette Harris & trumpeter Tom Brown, vocalist Rebecca Jade & pianist Brian Simpson. On Saturday, the festival stage will host saxophonist from Los Angeles Justin Klunk, keyboardist Nicolas Cole, keyboardist Jeff Lorber & saxophonist Everette Harp, guitarist Jonathan Butler, vocalist October London, and saxophonist Gerald Albright. On Sunday, the public can see the Braxton Brothers, called “the funky twins of Smooth Jazz,” and Keiko Matsui, the famous Japanese keyboardist and composer. The last day of the festival also features saxophone icon Kirk Whalum and singer Jeffrey Osborne.

Tickets

Long Beach Jazz Festival tickets range from $91 to $218, depending on the seating area. Box seats are $143. Long Beach Jazz Festival offers VIP seating in a scenic Lagoon with a wide choice of food and entertainment. The VIP Tickets are $307.

The public is permitted to bring picnic baskets and small personal coolers (up to 10 quarts), plastic utensils and plastic food containers, factory-sealed plastic beverage containers, and sand chairs for lawn seating (low-back preferred). No alcoholic beverages, umbrellas, or high back chairs are permitted.

The festival is organized by Rainbow Promotions. There's also an Annual Long Beach Jazz Festival Celebrity Golf Tournament taking place in addition to the festival. This charity tournament is held at the beautiful Monarch Beach Golf Links surrounded by beautiful nature and views of the ocean. The jazz community’s golf event features games, prizes, musical performances, and, of course, a chance to play with celebrities!
