Jazz Middelheim 2024 in Antwerp

An annual summer jazz fest at the charming Middelheim Park in Antwerp

Dates: November 16, 2024 | June 6–9, 2025

Every year in August or September, Jazz Middelheim livens up the already lively city of Antwerp in Belgium. The iconic summer jazz festival draws thousands of music fans to Park Den Brandt for this year's edition in September. Visitors flock to the venue for four memorable days, filled with invigorating sounds. The diverse artists embrace a wide musical spectrum, ranging from avant-garde jazz to rock and EDM.

2024-2025 Editions

Due to a change in organizers, Jazz Middelheim is set to be held on a smaller scale on November 16th at Park den Brandt. The full-fledged version of the festival is set to return to the park on the weekend of June 8th for four days, from June 6th until June 9th.

Previous Festival Lineup

The previous year's lineups featured prominent artists like Philip Catherine, Alexandre Cavaliere, Kurt Rosenwinkel Trio, Aka Moon 30 Y, and Flight of the Black Zebra ft. Jacob Bro. The last edition in 2022 showcased legendary musicians, including rock star Iggy Pop, jazz maestro Alabaster DePlume, Belgian band TaxiWars, and experimental singer Karen Williams. The next show promises an exhilarating selection of diverse music artists and a welcome addition of DJ music, which was never performed at the festival.

Location

Jazz Middelheim will be held in November on a smaller scale at Park Den Brandt, a regular venue for the jazz festivities. The park boasts a spacious area of 52 acres (21 ha) and is the perfect spot to unwind to some relaxing music.

History of the Festival

The tradition of Jazz Middelheim stems from 1969. Hence, the organizers wittily name it a funky grandpa of all jazz fests. The first edition took place as a jazz promenade in the very same Middelheim Park. As of today, the jazz festival is recognized among the city's favorite summer events.
