Balloons over Bavarian Inn is the highlight of the summer in Frankenmuth, Michigan. The annual Frankenmuth Balloon Fiesta features morning and evening lift-offs as well as several nightly balloon glows. Morning flights on the first day of the event begin at 7 am last until 8:30 am. On all other days of the festival, expect to see the balloons in the sky between 6 and 8 am. As for night glows, the schedule is the same throughout the balloon fiesta–from 9 to 10 pm. You'll witness more than 12 tethered hot air balloons gracefully inflate over River Place Shops field.
The Dog Bowl
However, there's more to the festival than just balloons. In addition to sky-high wonders, there is a free family fun festival, featuring over 25 fun dog events. These include a dog parade, wiener dog races, sheep herding demos, disc competitions, Dog King and Queen award ceremony, and other great activities. All this fun is commonly known as the Dog Bowl.
Balloons over Bavarian Inn also includes the official Competitive balloon event. All rides and balloon glows take place at River Place Shops and along Weiss Street. The Bavarian Inn occupies 25 acres (10 ha) and offers plenty of space for guests and their four-legged friends.
