The New York Burlesque Festival, held annually in New York City each fall, showcases over 100 burlesque performers from around the globe. The festival features live performances with interactive elements, including burlesque makeovers for attendees. Patrons can purchase paraphernalia like pasties, corsets, and costumes. As one of the most significant burlesque events worldwide, the festival also includes live music, comedy, and variety shows.
Events
The New York Burlesque Festival features a range of exciting events. It kicks off with The Teaser Part* on October 3rd at 3 Dollar Bill, followed by The Premiere Party on October 4th at Brooklyn Bowl. On October 5th, the festival continues with The Saturday Spectacular at Sony Hall. The event concludes with The Golden Pastie Awards & Supper Show on October 6th at Le Poisson Rouge.
Locations
During the four nights, dozens of shows take place at numerous venues in Manhattan and Brooklyn like Brooklyn Bowl, The Bell House, Le Poisson Rouge, Sony Hall, B.B. King Blues Club, the Highline Ballroom, The Maritime Hotel, The Limelight, the Supper Club, and the Paramount Hotel.
Tickets
Visitors can purchase tickets for specific events or opt for a VIP weekend pass to enjoy all four days of the festival. The VIP pass includes priority seating, complimentary cocktails, merchandise discounts, and expedited entry. Standard tickets to individual events start at $26.78.
History of New York Burlesque Festival
Jen Gapay of Thirsty Girl Productions, as well as Angie Pontani, Tara Pontani, and Helen Pontani of The World Famous Pontani Sisters, launched the New York Burlesque Festival in 2003. Previous performers at the festival included The World Famous *BOB*, Dirty Martini, Jo Weldon, Jett Adore, Jonny Porkpie, Julie Atlas Muz, Murray Hill, and Nasty Canasta.
