Canterbury Renaissance Faire is an annual medieval-themed festival held in Silverton, Oregon, over two weekends in July. Visitors have an opportunity to dress up and travel back in time, immersing themselves in a fantasy world. An imaginative interactive environment was inspired by the Summer Market Faire from the era of Queen Elizabeth I, 1558-1603.

Events and Activities

Held in the beautiful forested area northeast of Silverton, the faire offers a great opportunity to spend a day outdoors and enjoy some quality entertainment. Visitors can mingle with the crowd of jugglers, Renaissance singers, minstrels, magicians, mystics, and pirates.

Canterbury Renaissance Faire features several stages with nonstop entertainment, crafts, and the lifestyles of Medieval village folk. Visit Horse Arena for regular Equestrian shows and jousting. Ship fitting, blacksmithing, archery, and other activities will certainly become an educational and exciting experience. The marketplace offers a unique shopping experience with period garments and other goods for sale. Visitors can also try sword fighting and various period games. The faire runs from 10 am to 6 pm on all days.

Tickets

Faire tickets visitors can buy for the following prices: adults one-day ticket (ages 12+)—$25.00, children (ages 12 and under)/seniors (ages 60+)—$20.00, day off for active military—$1.00. Toddlers 5 years and under are free.

Faire dos and don'ts

Tickets will be sold online and at the gate. Guests of the faire can visit events and festivalgrounds with certified service animals, but pets are not allowed. Visitors can't bring outside food or drink, only an empty water container to fill, and no coolers. Guests can get to the Faire via shuttle buses that depart from Silverton Middle School (714 Schlador St, Silverton, OR 97381) and Silverton High School (1456 Pine St, Silverton, OR 97381).

Faire organizers say that the establishment of an interactive stage that enables attendees to immerse themselves in the sights and sounds, scientific discoveries, entertainment, crafts, and lifestyles of the Elizabethan Village Folk, as they celebrate the richness of village life.
