Festival do Rio (Rio de Janeiro Int'l Film Festival) 2024

For a couple of days, Rio becomes the best place to be for cinema-lovers. During this festival, ​you can see the world's best movies as well as new works from Latin American directors.

Festival do Rio Program

More than 300 movies from over 60 countries are divided into major sections like World Panorama, Expectations, Midnight Movies, Latin Premiere, Frontiers, Film Doc, etc. Additionally, you can visit the festival's numerous meetings, workshops, seminars, talks, and master classes that are a part of the program. So grab your enthusiasm, your love for the cinema, the festival's map of events, and plunge into Brazil's world of cinema.​

The Opening Gal takes place on October 3 at Cine Odeon–CCLSR, starting the film marathon with Emilia Pérez, by Jacques Audiard, a multi-award-winning film from Cannes that the specialized press has noted as a strong candidate for the 2025 Oscars. The Closing Gala will contain a screening of Maníaco do Parque, a film directed by Maurício Eça and starring Silvero Pereira.

Location

In 2024, the festival will run at Armazém da Utopia, located on the Cais do Porto do Rio de Janeiro. Additionally, the Festival do Rio is held throughout the city. Around 12 cinemas host the festival sessions.
