Northern California Cherry Blossom Festival is a celebration of the spring’s arrival marked with the cherry tree blossoms. This event features the color and grace of Japanese culture maintained by the Japanese American Community. All the visitors are offered the best Japanese food, including sushi and teriyaki. They are exposed to a variety of rice papercrafts. One of the most captivating spectacles must be a live drum performance, which is supposed to drive off evil spirits. The event attracts over 200,000 visitors every year. The festivities span over two weeks in April and take place on the weekends in Japantown.
