Northern California Cherry Blossom Festival is a celebration of the spring’s arrival marked with the cherries blossoms. It features the colour and grace of Japanese culture maintained by the Japanese American Community. The visitors are offered the best Japanese food including sushi and teriyaki. They are exposed to the variety of rice paper crafts. One of the most captivating spectacles must be a vigorous drum performance which is supposed to drive off evil spirits. The event attracts over 200,000 visitors every year. The festivities spread over two weeks in April and take place on the weekends in Japantown.
