Held annually in late September or early October, this festival celebrates an ancient era called Hanseong Baekje—during this time, Korea was divided into three powerful kingdoms.

Hanseong Baekje Cultural Festival Tradition

This festival teaches participants about the Baekje culture and traditions through parades, games, food, calligraphy, folk performances, tea ceremonies, traditional rice grinding, pottery, various arts and crafts, traditional costumes, and much much more. Entrance to the festival is free of charge. Simply proceed to The Olympic Park’s Peace Square and join the fun.

Location

Hanseong Baekje Cultural Festival usually takes place at the Peace Gate Plaza in Olympic Park, Songpa-gu.

History

First held in 1994, the one-day Festival included opening ceremony, Baekje poetry, Taepyeongmu, Samulnori, King Geunchogo's military parade, and Seoul 600 Years Photo Exhibition at Asia Park.
