Texas celebrates all the roots of its residents. Therefore it features a Celtic Festival as well, an annual event where you can learn Irish Step Dancing or Scottish Country Dancing. The Austin Highland Games attract those who want to show their strength and like to challenge themselves. The competition includes men's, women's, and children's categories. One of the most popular competitions is the Caber Toss. The aim of the game is to throw the Caber as high and far as you can, and it has to make one turn in the air. A Caber is a tree that has been cut and trimmed down with one end wider than the other. It varies in length from 4.5 to 7 m and weights between 45 and 80 kg.

The event is also a place to watch the Celtic Dog Parades with traditional breeds being featured. Everyone can have a look at Mini Horses and sheepdog herding demos. The historical area showcases the life of Celtic villages and exciting fighting demonstrations by the Vikings. There are lots of workshops where you can learn some new craft techniques and enjoy a fascinating experience.
