The Thunder and Lightning Over Arizona is a free weekend air show taking place at Davis Monthan Air Force Base in Tucson, Arizona. The public is invited to the air base on the weekend of March to see spectacular aerial displays and impressive planes, as well as to enjoy various entertainment.

The main highlight of Thunder and Lightning Over Arizona is the United States Air Force Thunderbirds, a demonstration squadron on F-16 fighter jets. Thunderbirds perform alongside the local A-10C Thunderbolt II Demonstration Team, based in Davis Monthan. The show also features the Desert Lightning Team Combat Search and Rescue Demonstration, U.S. Air Force F-35A Lightning II Demo Team, U.S. Navy’s F/A-18 Super Hornet Demo Team, and Leap Frogs.

The event is aimed to promote the US military and inspire those who currently serve, displaying what the military is capable of. The public has a chance to view static aircraft at the base, meet the airmen, and learn about special missions. Children can enjoy their time at a kid zone play area with aviation-themed attractions, like Thunderbird bounce house or a mechanical jet. Food and beverages are available on site. Also, tickets are sold for the limited premium seating.
