Abbotsford International Airshow is Canada's national air show, listed in USA Today's Travel Section as one of the "Top Ten Airshows in the World." Being located at the Abbotsford Airport, it's usually held on the second weekend of August every year.
The air show was born in 1962 as a community fundraiser and has grown into one of the best of Canada's aviation events. Organized by the Abbotsford International Airshow Society, it attracts over 125,000 visitors annually. Drawing aircraft and spectators from all over the world, this three-day event features Canada's Snowbirds, Canadian Forces parachute teams, demonstrations by Canadian Forces CF-18 Hornets, and entries from the Canadian Museum of Flight.
Usually, the Abbotsford International Airshow grounds are open from 3:30 pm until 10:30 pm on Friday and from 9:00 am until 5:30 pm over the weekend. The main flights are between 5:30 pm and 10:00 pm on Friday and from 11:00 am until 4:30 pm over the weekend.
