Even though the city offers a variety of theater performances to enjoy all year round, the most important theater event is definitely the annual Chicago Theater Week. This is the real highlight of February when a range of venues across Chicago feature the best of the city's world-class theater scene. About 100 participating productions will present their performances at a discounted price starting from $15, or even less, up to $30, so that everyone can afford a cultural delight.
The plays are staged throughout 11 days in mid-February all over the city from the downtown Theater District to the suburbs and everywhere in between. Don't forget to check out such famous spots as Steppenwolf and the Second City.
