Moffat County Hot Air Balloon Festival is a great event, attracting thousands of tourists to Northwest Colorado. The festival is held in the city of Craig, which by itself is an amazing destination with many cool attractions. Visitors can enjoy the warm summer weather and the views of dozens of hot-air balloons of various shapes and sizes. In addition, you’ll have an opportunity to relish savory food and drinks in the park where the event takes place.

Moffat County Hot Air Balloon Festival Events and Activities

The main highlights of the festival include mass balloon launches on three mornings in a row. The fun begins on Friday at 6:30 am in Loudy-Simpson Park. At 7 pm, festivities continue during a live music concert at Alice Pleasant Park.

Festival Schedule

Saturday is the main day of the festival, with the Hot Air Balloon Launch and Chase, as well as the Flying Colors 5k run, starting early in the morning. Colorado Cruiser Classic Car Show, Northwest Colorado Health Duck Race, Cardboard Boat Regatta, craft vendors, wagon rides, and live music will entertain the public during the day. Saturday ends with the Balloon Glow or Candlestick at 8:30 pm.

In addition to hot air balloons, visitors can enjoy dining and local brews in Downtown Craig, visit the Museum of Northwest Colorado and Wyman Living History Museum.

Pet Policy

Leashed dogs are allowed on the festival grounds, but they may be bothered by the sounds of the balloons being inflated.
