Watch over 25 hot air balloons ascend over Steamboat Springs in the morning at the annual Hot Air Balloon Rodeo. Enjoy live music and balloons together with merchandise and food. The earlier you come to the launch grounds, the better the photography options that you will have. The location is situated on Highway 40, about a mile south of Walton Creek Road. (In 2020, the public is not allowed at the launch field.) Events during the rodeo include fun contests such as dipping into Bald Eagle Lake. And since balloon pilots are usually pretty competitive, you’re guaranteed a fantastic performance.
