Spirit of Boise Balloon Classic 2024 in Idaho

Hot air balloon pilots from all across the US will definitely take your breath away

Dates: August 28–September 1, 2024

Hosted annually since 1991 in Ann Morrison Park, The Spirit of Boise Balloon Classic is an amazing way to provide family-oriented production for the public at no charge. The ballooning event has long become local community's favorite tradition to spend Labor Day weekend. Festivities normally span five days from Wednesday through Sunday.

Spirit of Boise Balloon Classic Schedule

The event gathers both tourists and locals who enjoy being enclosed by inspiring music and, of course, endless colorful balloons. The launches are weather-permitting and typically start at about 6:30 am and last until 9 am. Free tethered rides are available on selected days. You will see dozens of hot air balloons over Boise, with the occasional balloon falling on the rooftops of historical landmarks in the middle of Broadway Avenue, and even on the Capitol's front lawn.

On Wednesday program starts with balloons launching at 6:45 am and "Cap Ed Kid's Day" at 7:25 am. at Ann Morrison Park. The field will be inflated with balloons so children can learn about how they work and ride tethered balloons for free.

On Thursday, balloons will set off at 6:30 am, and the Optional Flight for "Media Day" will start at 7:20 am. Friday is a "V.I.P. Day" and "Nite Glow Spectacular". Pilots will be arriving in the Park at 6:10 am, followed by a tribute launch in honor of Larry Gebert at 7:10 am. Then, Nite Glow Activities starts at 5:30 pm, featuring food, vendors, and live music. Then, guests can enjoy a Mandatory Flight at 7:20 am in Ann Morrison Park. "Nite Glow Spectacular" will end the day at 8:05 pm.

Saturday is "Competition Day," with balloons launching at 6 am and a Mandatory Flight at 7:20 am in Ann Morrison Park. On Sunday, visitors can attend the last launch day of the Spirit of Boise Balloon Classic at 5:30 am and a Mandatory Flight at 7:20 am in Ann Morrison Park.

Parking

There will be limited parking inside the park throughout the event, and there will be no parking on Friday, August 30.
