Scarecrow Weekend Fest 2024 in Illinois

Scarecrow Weekend is an annual, free-of-charge street festival in downtown St. Charles, Illinois that provides families with the ideal opportunity to embrace the autumn season. Over 110 handmade scarecrows will be on display throughout the town, inviting visitors to explore and vote for their favorites. Additionally, families can look forward to the Family and Activity Zones, featuring live entertainment and a plethora of family-friendly fun.

Open Hours & Locations

Scarecrow Weekend will be held from October 11th to October 13th, with hours of operation from 12 pm to 6 pm on Friday, 10 am to 6 pm on Saturday, and 10 am to 5 pm on Sunday. In Downtown St. Charles, Illinois, scarecrows adorn the 1st Street. Families enjoy the festivities in Lincoln Park's Family Zone and the bustling activities on Riverside Ave.'s Activity Zone. At Pottawatomie Park's Autumn on the Fox Craft Show, creativity thrives. There is free parking available all around the city.

Scarecrow Contest

During Scarecrow Weekend in downtown St. Charles, visitors can enjoy the Scarecrow Contest, featuring unique handcrafted scarecrows displayed throughout the area. Divided into four categories, the scarecrows can be found in different locations: Business along Riverside Avenue, Individual in Lincoln Park, and Clubs/Not-for-Profits/Schools on 1st Street & Riverside Avenue, with Mechanical/Mega entries in Lincoln Park. These imaginative displays are showcased at both the Family Zone and the Activity Zone.

Family Zone

Visitors are invited to indulge in complimentary entertainment at the Family Zone in Lincoln Park, with a diverse lineup of local musicians, dance teams, magic shows, and even a Giant Bubble Artist, ensuring a memorable experience for all. Additionally, attendees can explore the various Family Fun Booths offering exciting activities and more. It offers a fantastic opportunity to engage in enjoyable activities, receive awesome goodies, and learn about the outstanding businesses participating in the event.

Activity Zone

The Activity Zone promises an abundance of family-friendly activities to enjoy. From the Scarecrow-to-Go for $10 to pumpkin painting and a professional pumpkin carver, there's something for everyone. Visitors can navigate through a fun house maze, groove to the beats of an interactive family DJ, or join the excitement of the Culver's Ice Cream Eating Contest. Other highlights include face painting, the John Measner Magic Truck, interactive bubble stations, and numerous festive photo opportunities.

Autumn on the Fox Art and Craft Show

The Autumn on the Fox Art and Craft Show, presented by Art of the Heartland, showcases the talents of over 150 crafters participating. The show boasts an extensive selection, including primitive woodwork and whimsical folk art. Many exhibitors feature fall-themed décor, such as floral arrangements, scarecrows, iron sculptures, painted pumpkins, and carved gourds, adding to the seasonal ambiance. Additionally, visitors can indulge in a variety of food products, including soup and dip mixes, chocolates, baked goods, honey products, and BBQ items, making the Autumn on the Fox Art and Craft Show a delightful experience for all who attend.
