Come and see the downtown of Sisters, Oregon covered in colourful quilts! This is a unique spectacle that has to be seen by all enthusiasts of fibre arts. The Sisters Outdoor Quilt Show always takes place on the second Saturday of July in the beautiful setting surrounded by the Cascade Mountains. Visitors can see more than 1,400 quilts scattered across the city's buildings and fences, representing various styles and stitches. You'll see all sorts of items ranging from hand-quilted heirlooms to contemporary art quilts. The annual Around the Block Fiber Arts Stroll and Quilt Walk also showcases more than 100 quilts inside local shops and restaurants during the month of July.
Every year the Sisters Outdoor Quilt Show attracts over 10,000 visitors from all the 50 states and over 20 countries. Quiltmakers of all ages from 10 to 90 hold workshops during the Quilt Week and exhibit their art at one of many “show-and-tell” exhibits that showcase first-time quilters, young, male or other specific quilters. Altogether there are over 500 of them participating in the festival. The show runs from 9 am to 4 pm
