The Aero Gatineau-Ottawa is one of Canada's premier aviation events, which takes place at the Gatineau Airport every September. Showcasing a dazzling array of aerobatic acts and featuring over 60 aircraft, including the esteemed Vintage Wings of Canada fleet, this event promises an immersive experience into the world of aviation.

Date and Schedule

The event's schedule kicks off on Friday, September 6, with a captivating Night Show featuring the GhostWriter, drones, and more. Gates open at 5 pm, with the air show scheduled from 6:30 pm to 8:15 pm. On Saturday, September 7, and Sunday, September 8, visitors can enjoy spectacular displays by renowned groups such as the Thunderbirds, Red Arrows, Snowbirds, CF-18, and others. Gates open at 10 am, with static displays from 10 am to 5 pm and air shows from noon to 5 pm.

Performing Aircraft

A highlight of the event includes performances by iconic aircraft like the Red Arrows from the Royal Air Force, the Thunderbirds from the United States Air Force, and the Canadian Forces Snowbirds, among others. Visitors will be able to witness historic planes like the Hawker Hurricane Mk XII and the Supermarine Spitfire Mk IX from the Michael U. Potter Historic Aircraft Collection.

Ticket Information

Tickets for the Aero Gatineau-Ottawa are now available for purchase, offering various options ranging from single-day passes to exclusive Flightline Club access. It's essential to secure the tickets online, as there won't be any ticket booths at the event. The presale period, running from April 3 to September 2, offers discounted rates. Discounted adult tickets can be purchased at $44.99, while regular prices, applicable from September 3 to 8, are set at $54.99.

The one-day pass grants general admission to either Saturday or Sunday's air show, with discounted rates for military personnel, veterans, students, and youth. Families can also avail themselves of package deals. Additionally, children aged four and under enter for free.

Parking

Free parking is available on-site, with additional premium parking passes offered for those seeking convenience. Shuttle buses facilitate transportation between parking areas and the main gates, ensuring a hassle-free experience for attendees.

Location and Accessibility

Situated at the Gatineau-Ottawa Executive Airport, just 12.5 miles (20 km) east of downtown Ottawa, and a 90-minute drive from Montreal, the event boasts a convenient location accessible via Highway 50. Shuttle services are available, with options for public transit and bike racks provided for eco-conscious attendees.

Visitors can explore a range of accommodation options in the Outaouais region, with packages including lodging and event access available for booking. Food vendors offering a variety of cuisines will be present, with a new addition this year being a bar featuring local products. Outside food and drinks are permitted, with vendors also accepting cash payments.
