The California Roots Music and Art Festival or so-called Cali Roots is an American annual music and art event. Held at the Monterey County Fairgrounds in Monterrey, California, it features live painting, and reggae-rock-folk-hip hop acts on-stage. Not only is it packed with live music performances but also with refreshing beverages, fantastic food, and sustainable practices.
The California Roots Festival started in 2010 as a one-day event and has grown into one of America's largest reggae festivals. It is considered to be more as a movement rather than just a simple music festival, for it delivers love and joy, true happiness, peace and excellent vibes to all of its visitors.
This fantastic three-day event is all about quintessential California living and dreaming with an accompaniment of the last lineup including Ziggy Marley, The Expendables, Slightly Stoopid, Steel Pulses as well as The Roots, G-Love, Cypress Hill, and many others.
Monterey County Fairgrounds root back to some stories. It was there where Jimi Hendrix set his guitar on fire during the Monterey Pop Festival in 1967 and changed the whole generation's view on music festivals and on life as it was.
