The annual Erie Town Fair and Balloon Festival is the largest event organized by the Erie Chamber of Commerce. Besides ballooning, other highlights of the program include craft and food vendors operating from 10 am to 4 pm, stage performances at 6 pm, and fireworks at around 9:15 pm. All activities take place around Historic Downtown Erie and Coal Creek Park. It's only 28 mi (45 km) north of downtown Denver.
The Town Fair takes place on Saturday only. A live music stage, a beer garden, and a kids' zone will be set up at 235 Wells Street in the Old Town Erie area. A diverse lineup of bands will perform music of different genres from 6 to 9 pm. The vibrant atmosphere in town is perfect for enjoying the outdoors, trying different foods, and dancing. The kids’ zone features carnival games and rides, face painting, and a climbing wall. Also, airplane rides are offered close by.
Every year, the festival hosts about 50 magnificent hot air balloons. The mass balloon launch will take place during all days of the festival from 6 to 9 am at County Road 5 at Colliers Parkway (West of Soaring Heights Middle School). A balloon glow is scheduled in the evening.
