Strathaven Balloon Festival 2024 in Scotland

The Strathaven Balloon Festival is held in August in the Award-winning Strathaven Park, some 25 mi (40 km) southeast of Glasgow. A weekend of free festivities for all the family draws around 30,000 visitors annually. The event is known as the only hot air balloon festival in Scotland. What's more, this celebration is among the UK's top three ballooning events, attracting pilots from all over Europe.

The festival features a colorful show of hot air balloons taking flight against the picturesque backdrop of the Scottish countryside. Festival guests can be fond of watching the balloons ascend into the sky and participate in various family-friendly activities.

Strathaven Balloon Festival Events and Entertainment

The Strathaven Balloon Festival program includes all sorts of entertainment, with a focus on ballooning. Weather-permitting hot air balloon launches, scheduled at 6 pm, are included. In addition, a spectacular evening balloon glow takes place at 9 pm on Saturday. Throughout Saturday and Sunday, from 12 pm, guests can enjoy Family Fun Day's all sorts of entertainment in the park. There will be live music performances, a fair, classic vehicles, stalls galore, and much more. Admission is free, but guests can donate to support a Fest.
