The Luton Carnival is the largest one-day carnival in the UK and the second biggest 2-day carnival after Notting Hill. Based in Luton town center in Bedfordshire, the carnival has been traced back to 1976 as part of the Victorian Fayre. Over the years, it evolved into the Luton Carnival and acquired “international status.” Now, it’s organized by Luton Borough Council in partnership with the UK Centre for Carnival Arts and Luton Culture.
Over 140,000 revelers visit every year to celebrate life and have fun. The Luton Carnival features 11 sound systems, sound trucks, masquerade groups, samba troupes, DJs, stilt walkers, and a parade, all offering the visitors a deep dive into the rich culture of Luton.
