Las Palmas de Gran Canaria Carnival 2025 in Canary Islands

The great idea of combining both Carnival and the beach attracts tourists and locals to the biggest celebration in Gran Canaria. Las Canteras Beach is the main stage of all the fun and entertainment​. This festival, with its over 30 years of history, is the most socially and economically important of its kind for the island.

The drag queen final, main parade, sardine burial, and carnival fireworks are the highlights of all the celebrations. Colourful beach parties with music and sunshine are visited by hundreds of thousands of people.

Grand Parade (February 17, 2024)

The Grand Parade is one of the biggest highlights of the carnival. Taking place during the last weekend of the celebration, the colorful procession covers over 4 miles (7 km) throughout the city, moving from La Isleta to Triana. The parade features over 200,000 Mascaritas or masked participants and about a hundred festooned cars and floats. The parade is led by the Queen, the Drag Queen, and the Grand Dame, accompanied by music bands, dancers, and more.

Not only Las Palmas, but almost every town and village in Gran Canaria has its own celebrations and schedule.
