The Whitley Bay Carnival is an amazing event that brings local artists and citizens together to showcase the best of this seaside town. Being a free, family-friendly carnival anyone can enjoy, it features a lot of activities with a huge parade as a highlight.
The parade starts at Whitley Bay Metro Station at 11 am with the procession along Station Road, Whitley Road, Park View, and Marine Avenue to the Links and Spanish City Plaza. The endpoint is on the central lower promenade. At the parade in Whitley Bay, you can expect fancy costumes, flags of hope, giant parade structures, artists, families, and musicians.
Even though it takes place in the Spanish City Plaza, it’s not a Spanish City event. The Whitley Bay Carnival is organized by SALTo Arts Productions in partnership with Whitley Bay Big Local, Creative Civic Change, and North Tyneside Council.
