Festival Schedule

Friday, May 17

On May 17, the festivities kick off bright and early, with Lampe Park opening at 5 am. Experience the patriotic fervor as the National Anthem accompanies the launch of Flag Balloons at 6 am. As they take flight, the morning sky will soon be adorned with colorful balloons. Watch for special passengers on this day, including media, veterans, and first responders. Later in the evening, the excitement continues with food trucks, vendors, and an opportunity to meet the balloon pilots as they prepare for a fiery spectacle at 7:30 pm.

Saturday, May 18

On May 18, Lampe Park opens again at 5 am. All guests can indulge in culinary delights from food trucks from 5 am until 3 pm. Explore a variety of arts, crafts, and goods at vendor booths open during the same hours. The morning sky comes alive with the Flag Balloons launching at 6 am, followed by a mesmerizing balloon launch at 6:15 am. Throughout the day, enjoy tethered balloons, performers, and entertainment from 7:30 am until 3 pm.

Sunday, May 19

On May 19, the final day of the Balloon Festival begins with Lampe Park opening at 5 am. Treat yourself to delectable delights from food trucks open from 5 am until 10 am. The morning sky witnesses the uplifting spectacle of the Flag Balloons launching at 6 am, followed by another captivating balloon launch at 6:15 am. Tethered balloon rides will be available at 7:30 am, providing a memorable experience to round off the weekend festivities. Note, that all ballooning events are weather permitting.

Ballon Competition

Attendees can witness the thrilling spectacle of a balloon competition, which isn't just about floating in the sky—it's a test of skill and precision in navigation. Hot Air for Hope is gearing up for two action-packed days of competition, slated for Saturday and Sunday, featuring both traditional and virtual targets. This event is a key part of the prestigious Nevada State Championship series.

Experience the excitement as skilled pilots navigate their balloons across the sky, striving for precision and accuracy in completing designated tasks. A competitive balloon flight typically lasts one to two hours, offering participants ample time to showcase their expertise and compete for top honors.

Balloon Rides Prices

Festival guests can also soar above the Carson Valley landscape and experience the breathtaking beauty of springtime. Open to the general public, balloon rides offer a unique perspective, but reservations are essential as space is limited. You can choose from three options: the Classic ride, starting at $349 per person with a maximum of 14 guests; the Enhanced ride, starting at $379 per person with a maximum of 14 guests; or the VIP experience, starting at $5300 per balloon with a minimum of 6 guests.
