Bronx Zoo Holiday Lights is a family-oriented lights festival that transforms the Bronx Zoo into a truly magical place. During the evenings, the park comes to life—custom-designed animal lanterns, colored arches and tunnels, immersive light displays, and animated light shows twinkle across the zoo, creating a wonderful atmosphere.

Christmas Activities

The Bronx Zoo Holiday Lights event features a dazzling array of decorations, including meteor shower lights, rope lights, net lights, icicle lights, twinkle light trees, and LED curtain lights. Visitors can enjoy seasonal treats, musical light performances on Astor Court, the mesmerizing Light Tunnel, the Holiday Train, ice carving demonstrations, illuminated performers, and wildlife theater. In the Schiff Family Great Hall, the Enchanted Sea display includes LED swings, interactive floor projections, ocean-themed light panels, and a jellyfish light celebration. The Holiday Lights experience runs from 3 pm to 9 pm, with the last entry at 8 pm.

Lantern Trails

The Bronx Zoo Holiday Lights features nearly 400 lanterns representing almost 100 animal and plant species, highlighting the wildlife and wild places that WCS staff work to protect globally and at their New York zoos and aquariums. This year, 64 new lanterns depicting nine new animal species make their debut. Visitors can explore six enchanting lantern trails: Africa, Asia, Forest of Color—showing over 20 larger-than-life lanterns and emphasizing wildlife protection, Latin America, North America, and Oceans.

Tickets

Ticket prices for the Bronx Zoo Holiday Lights are as follows: Adults (13 and over) range from $41.95 to $56.95, seniors (65 and over) range from $36.95 to $51.95, and children (3 to 12) range from $26.95 to $41.95. Children aged two and under get in free. Parking is available at the Southern Blvd entrance and the Bronx River Parkway entrance for $20 per car.
