A unique sound and light show at Bundesplatz makes for a great opportunity to learn more about Swiss culture and values. Light, sounds, and images are combined in a unique show of Swiss national symbolism. Previously spectators had the chance to admire the iconic Matterhorn mountain as it has never been seen before. During late autumn, this unusual show takes audiences to Switzerland's symbolic fairytale world.
Rendez-vous Bundesplatz takes place since 2010. Every year the show has a different theme. For example, in 2019 the show took the Swiss parliament building to another dimension to celebrate the first human steps on the moon. The façade of the Bundeshaus became the stage for a spectacular audio-visual show “First Step” that took viewers from man’s early visions of space to the astronauts' first contacts with the moon. Special attention was made to the use of Swiss technology, that was used during the Apollo missions.
The iconic Bundeshaus or Federal Palace in Bern is housing the Swiss Federal Assembly and the Federal Council. The building that is 300 m(980 ft) in length and consists of two wings was designed by Hans Wilhelm Auer and constructed between 1894 and 1902. Its main attraction is Domed Hall that has the height of 64 m (210 ft).
