If you ever wanted to try some bugs, come to Cambodia. Here insects are a part of the culinary tradition for many centuries, so locals know how to cook them best. Bugs, spiders, cockroaches, and silkworms can be seen everywhere throughout the country, being sold in markets, pushed through the streets on carts and even offered in restaurants as specialty dishes.
Locusts and grasshoppers are considered as the tastiest and some people say their flavour is a mix of sunflower seeds and chicken schnitzel.
The greatest variety of bugs can be found during the rainy season from May to mid-December when insects migrate to the country in large numbers.
