St. Alphonsus Oktoberfest 2024 in Chicago
Join thousands of beer lovers at St. Al's Oktoberfest
Dates: September 27-29, 2024
St. Al's Oktoberfest, also known as Oktoberfest Chicago at St. Alphonsus, is one of Chicago's most popular beer festivals. Since its foundation, it has grown hugely: a tiny place on a parking lot has expanded into Southport and neighboring streets. This three-day beer extravaganza welcomes everyone to rejoice in a German-like atmosphere.
Event Highlights
St. Al's Oktoberfest keeps up with German traditions and offers homemade bratwurst, plenty of live music on two stages, and lots of great beer. It's held in a beer garden under a big-top tent. Visitors can't miss the ceremonial keg tapping and official blessing of beer. Everyone can take part in the Stein Hoisting Competition.
Music
On the first day of the festival, the Main Stage will host The Shagadelics and Dancing Queen, while on the Parking Lot Stage will perform Leslie Hunt Band and iPop. Saturday headliners are 16 Candles on the Main Stage and The Polkaholics on the Parking Lot Stage.
Kinderfest Area
This year's Oktoberfest will feature a special Kinderfest area. Fun offerings will include face painting, games and activities, and a friendly Kinderfest meal available for them to enjoy, while parents can hang out and enjoy a beer, brat, or soft pretzel.
Schedule
This year, St. Al's Oktoberfest will occur on Friday, September 27, from 5 pm to 10 pm, on Saturday, September 28, from noon to 10 pm, and on Sunday, September 29, from noon to 7 pm.
Tickets
General admission to the festival is typically free, but if you want to attend the special Craft Beer Tasting sessions, tickets are priced at $40. These sessions include 15 tastings and will take place on Friday, September 27 (6 pm - 9 pm) and Saturday, September 28 (4 pm - 7 pm). The event is limited to 700 tasters. Anyone can also upgrade their Oktoberfest experience and become an Oktoberfest VIP by contributing $200.
