Jazz Aspen Snowmass (JAS) is a popular music festival with over 30 years of history, which is held at Snowmass Village in Aspen, Colorado. Founded in 1991, Jazz Aspen Snowmass features world-class music, various performances, and education programs in a beautiful mountain setting, Top artists like James Brown, Sheryl Crow, Sting, Stevie Wonder, Stevie Nicks, Kanye West, Chris Stapleton, Eric Church, The Count Basie Orchestra, Leon Bridges performed at the festival throughout its history. JAS usually has two editions during the summer season, in June and in September.
June Experience (June 20-23, 2024)
Every year, Jazz Aspen Snowmass offers a three-day June Experience in late June. Three fantastic nights of outdoor concerts take place at several locations in Downtown Aspen. With 40 acts in 12 venues, JAS is the ultimate Rocky Mountains music experience that can't be beaten. Participating venues include Wheeler Opera House & Lobby, Belly Up, 39 Degrees at W Hotel, Limelight Hotel, Bon Bon, Sterling Lounge, Felix Roasting Co. Bad Harriet, Here House, and Aspen Art Museum. The past lineups included leading jazz and blues artists like Galactic, Big Sam’s Funky Nation, Tony Monaco, and Kevin Burt.
2024 Lineup and Tickets
In 2024, the JAS June Experience features a diverse lineup of Grammy nominees and winners as well as international jazz legends. The list includes Big Bad Voodoo Daddy, a contemporary swing revival band from Southern California, performing at Belly Up on Thursday. On Friday, the same venue will host The New Mastersounds, a British four-piece jazz fusion, blues, and funk band from Leeds. Also on Friday, Australian guitarist Tommy Emmanuel performs at the Aspen Art Museum. On Saturday, Jon Cleary & The Absolute Monster Gentlemen, with special guest GRAMMY-winner Nigel Hall, will perform soul, R&B, gospel, and funk at Belly Up. On the same day, The Headhunters perform at the Wheeler Opera House, and GRAMMY award-winning artist Cory Henry performs at the Aspen Art Museum. The Rio Grande VIP Tent hosts Orquesta Akokan with their signature Cuban mambo. The June Experience closes on Sunday with a Gospel Brunch, featuring the legendary Blind Boys of Alabama.
Single-day Thursday passes to JAS June Experience cost $75. Single-day Friday and Saturday passes cost $135. A two-day pass for Friday and Saturday costs $200, while a three-day pass costs $270. Three-day VIP passes are $1250 ($500 tax deduction).
Labor Day Experience (August 30–September 1, 2024)
Jazz Aspen Snowmass offers a beautiful open-air celebration of music during the Labor Day Weekend. Top bands and artists playing R&B, rock, funk, blues, world, and soul music perform at Snowmass Town Park, with the stunning Elk Mountain Range as a backdrop. In addition to music, guests can enjoy food & drink vendors, crafts, and kids' activities. Lineups usually boast top performers, like Foo Fighters, Old Dominion, Billy Idol, and Jade Jackson.
2024 Lineup and Tickets
In 2024, JAS Labor Day lineup is as impressive as ever. It features GRAMMY-winning rock, country, and Americana star Brandi Carlile on August 30. Country musician Lukas Nelson will open for Carlile. On August 31, a British legend, Sting, will perform at 5 pm. While Michael Marcagi will perform at 3 pm. On September 1, country icon Tim McGraw will close the festival. The Black Crowes and The War and Treaty will perform before him at 5 pm and 3 pm. A three-day pass for Labor Day Experience is $339 + fees. One-day pass is $189.
