Sun ’n Fun Aerospace Expo is one of the largest aviation events on the planet, taking place at Lakeland Linder International Airport in Lakeland, Florida. The major magnet for aviation enthusiasts is known as “Aviation’s Season Opener” or “Spring Break for Pilots.” The expo, which features a week-long fly-in and airshow, is attended by 200,000 people and is usually held either in late March or in early April.
Held since 1974, Sun ’n Fun Aerospace Expo offers hundreds of aircraft of all shapes and sizes on display, including vintage, jet, homebuilt, warbird, aerobatic, and light sport planes. The Sun ’n Funerobatic trade show features over 500 exhibitors, hands-on workshops, and forums for pilots and plane maintainers. Children can enjoy rides and games at Family Fun Zone. However, the main crowd-pleaser is, of course, a breathtaking daily airshow with dozens of military and civilian performers.
Sun ’n Fun Aerospace Expo Airshow schedule offers an impressive lineup of performers, such as USN Blue Angels Jets, USAF F-35A Demo Team, Aeroshell Aerobatic Team, Qyon Aero-Sport Jet Team, Rob Holland, Kyle Fowler, Nathan Hammond, and Bill Stein. Proceeds from the airshow are the source of funding for The Aerospace Center for Excellence (ACE). ACE is the home of the Florida Air Museum and the country’s largest high school flying club.
