Cal Poly Pomona Pumpkin Festival 2024 in Los Angeles
Tens of thousands of pumpkins in one place
Dates: September 28–October 27, 2024
The Pumpkin Festival is an annual event held at Cal Poly Pomona, or California State Polytechnic University, in the Los Angeles metropolitan area. In addition to a large patch, the festival features a traditional corn maze, horse rides, a petting farm, live music, games, and contests run by student clubs. In 2024, the fest will celebrate its 31st year of bringing autumn joy to the heart of Southern California.
Activities and Attractions
At the heart of the festival are 40,000 locally grown pumpkins, offering a picturesque backdrop for visitors to explore and select. Families can navigate through two challenging corn mazes or enjoy a relaxing hay ride around AGRIscapes, accompanied by insights into farm life provided by student guides. The petting farm delights both young and old with its friendly animals, including goats, sheep, and even a calf.
Preview Night (Friday, September 27, 2024)
The festival's expansion includes new features such as "Preview Night" on Friday, September 27, an exclusive evening of gourmet food, beer, and wine tastings amidst the pumpkin patch. This adult-only event supports the Huntley College of Agriculture's Dean’s Excellence Fund, enhancing educational opportunities for future agricultural leaders.
