Milan is famous for its food and restaurants, and there are plenty of vegetarian and vegan options in the city. The annual MiVEG festival, or Festival vegan a Milano, takes place in Milan every October, promoting a vegan lifestyle and showcasing vegan foods and drinks. There are also many workshops, cooking demonstrations, debates, screenings, and seminars on veganism as well as healthy and eco-friendly eating.
The MiVEG is held in East End Studios - Studio 90. The pavilion hosts about 70 stands of vegan, cruelty-free companies and associations.
During the two intense days, visitors can see for themselves that vegan meals don’t have to be a sacrifice. It is also a great way to consume healthy food and sustainable ingredients. Top chefs show different ways to prepare exclusive vegan foods, that are excellent and tasty and made from organic animal-free farming products. The bar area offers visitors vegan drinks, craft beer, sandwiches, and desserts. There is a special play area where children are entertained with ecological games and themed animal rights. Lectures, movies, and seminars on healthy cooking and eating engage people of all ages. For those who want to be even more involved, they can join as volunteers; organizers always welcome people to help set up the festival, assist the kitchen or in a thousand other ways.
