Milwaukee doesn't have a street New Year's Eve celebration and fireworks, however, there's a variety of gala events, parties, and concerts throughout its most popular clubs and hotels. If you are not afraid of the cold you can also ring in the New Year at the skating rink in Red Arrow Park. On December 31, the rink in downtown Milwaukee is open from 10 am to 1 am on the next day. It offers hot chocolate and other concessions.
Milwaukee Mitchell Park Horticultural Conservatory, called the Domes, usually hosts the family-friendly New Year’s Eve Celebration at 6 pm. It features folk music, live performances, face painting, balloon twisting, clowns, a light show, and a dance party. The party ends with a countdown and the balloon drop at 9 pm. Betty Brinn Children’s Museum has a celebration at 9 am with a noon ball drop and various kids' activities.
For adults, Milwaukee offers an array of venues for all budgets and music tastes. Extravagant parties take place in Milwaukee casinos. The most popular one is Milwaukee’s Biggest NYE Bash in Potawatomi Hotel & Casino that starts at 8 pm. The gala takes place at the huge 2400-square-feet dance floor and features DJ sets from the best DJs of Chicago and Milwaukee. The Rave club also has its biggest EDM party on New Year’s Eve featuring a solid lineup of electronic music big names. Country and bluegrass live music concerts take place in venues like The Pabst Theater, The Riverside Theater, and others.
