Corning is a picturesque town in Steuben County, New York, on the Chemung River, 2 hours 20 minutes drive from Buffalo. Parade of Lights here takes place annually in the Gaffer District. From 7:30 pm to 9 pm, Market Street is entirely transformed by a beautiful light show featuring sparkling floats and live entertainment for all ages.
The celebration begins in the evening on Bridge Street with a large display of lighted fire trucks and emergency vehicles that children love the most. The tree lighting ceremony takes place at 6 pm at Arbor Housing. After it, Santa pays a visit at about 6:30 pm riding a horse-drawn carriage to the Centerway Square. The evening ends with spectacular fireworks and holiday season greetings. What an excellent time for shopping and dining downtown!
