The Shanghai Tourism Festival has been held for more than twenty years, attracting up to ten million people. The festival parade, which is the main part of the opening ceremony, brings together dozens of performing groups and uniquely shaped floats. Spirit of Chinese and international traditions fills the city, but there also is a lot of modern entertainment. For instance, every weekend until the end of the festival you can hear bands from all over the world. One more interesting thing about the event is that Shanghai Tourism Festival gathers a number of just married couples, adorned in Chinese matrimonial costume. Finally, there is a Cruise Ship Parade on the Huangpu River. Here you will see dozens of exquisitely decorated cruise ships.
