Dozens of black-owned restaurants and wineries gather at the event to showcase the best of soul food and spirits. The sounds of rhythm and blues flow through the venue, setting up a perfect atmosphere for a Saturday evening.

Festival Program

The main focus of the event is surely the variety of black-owned vendors offering both food and beverages. You'll have a chance to treat your taste buds to delicious brews, spirits, and wine varieties while enjoying live bands playing music. A black-owned marketplace has its fair share of souvenirs and festival goods you can purchase to remember the festival. Additionally, there are many photo ops throughout the venue, where you can take the perfect snapshot with your friends or create a memorable social media post about the event. All the foodies can also participate in various festival games and dance to DJ-curated playlist.

Music Lineup

Numerous artists from the DC area and beyond take the stage at the Getaway Pavilion and entertain visitors with a fusion of R&B and hits from the 90s or 00s. This year, the lineup features The Crank Crusaders featuring Raheem DeVaughn, DJ Flow and DJ Quicksilva, Future Band, YML & Friends band, and many other up-and-coming musicians.

Schedule & Location

The festival takes place either in early July or September and runs from 2 pm until 9 pm. The event is held at the Getaway DC Pavilion, which features both open-air and covered spaces, perfect for any weather. It's located within the premises of the St. Elizabeth East apartment complex.
