Summer in Zanzibar brings lots of incredible exotic fruits that look amazing and also have strange flavours. For instance, breadfruit grows in different colours and has a round shape and is covered in bumps. However, its taste is not like bread, but a similar to custard apples. It is used in several of ways—stews, fries, baked, broiled, or powdered.
You can also find lots of jackfruits, a close relative of breadfruit, in the area.
