The Evergreen Jazz Festival is an annual celebration of traditional jazz and other styles, such as Dixieland, blues, boogie-woogie, swing, and ragtime. Nestled in the beautiful Rocky Mountains, southwest of Denver, the festival features 11 world-class bands on five stages every July.
Location & Schedule
The Evergreen Jazz Festival takes place at various venues in the beautiful mountain town of Evergreen. Venues include Center Stage, Evergreen Elks Lodge, Evergreen Lake House, and Evergreen Christian Church. The festival runs from noon to 11 pm on Friday, from 10 am to 10 pm on Saturday, and from 11 am to 6 pm on Sunday.
Concert Lineup
The Evergreen Jazz Festival presents a dynamic lineup of acclaimed jazz ensembles and bands. Performers include After Midnight, Carl Sonny Leyland Trio, The Chicago Cellar Boys, Espresso!, Jeremy Mohney & His Band, Hal Smith's El Dorado Jazz Band, Holland-Coots Swingin' West, The Hot Tomatoes Dance Orchestra, The Queen City Jazz Band featuring Wende Harston, Your Father's Mustache Band, and Double 88's. The Evergreen Jazz Festival also features a special Friday Afternoon Educational Concert, which is free for all attendees.
Tickets
A Festival Pass covering all three days is available for $165. For those attending specific days, Friday and Saturday passes are priced at $90 and $130, respectively, for full-day access. On Friday evening, a Dance Night ticket is available for $35 at the door, while Saturday offers both a Day Ticket (10 am–4 pm) and an Evening Session Ticket (4:15 pm–10:15 pm), each priced at $100. Another Dance Night ticket is also available on Saturday evening for $35 at the door. For Sunday, a Session Ticket covering the hours of 11 am to 6 pm is priced at $90. Student and active military discounts are offered with valid ID, including a reduced price of $65 for the Festival Pass and $30 for individual half-day sessions. Group pricing is also available at $65 per person.
History of Evergreen Jazz Fest
The Evergreen Jazz Festival was founded in 1999 at a birthday party for long-time Evergreen resident Sterling Nelson, the president of the Denver Jazz Club. Since then, the festival's hosted top Colorado jazz musicians and bands, like After Midnight, Hot Tomatoes Dance Orchestra, Joe Smith and The Spicy Pickles, and Your Father's Mustache Band. The lineup also features bands from other states, like Carl Sonny Leyland Trio, Holland Coots Jazz Quintet, James Dapogny Chicago Jazz Band, Capt: John RRoyen'sNew Orleans Rhythm and Queen City Jazz Band with Wende Harston.
