Telluride Jazz Festival is an annual music gathering in the historic mountain town of Telluride, Colorado, every August. Founded in 1977, Telluride Jazz Festival showcases the cultural tradition as well as modern jazz styles and genres, from Grammy Award winners and cutting-edge innovators to student bands. The three spectacular days are filled with top-quality jazz, funk, soul, folk, and gospel at Telluride Town Park, with stunning 13,000-foot peaks and scenic aspen trees at the backdrop.
In addition to excellent music, Telluride Jazz Festival offers an array of special events, interactive and children's activities, night shows, art walks, historical walking tours, and excellent food and beverage vendors. Top-notch cocktails are served with the Patron and VIP Experience. The festival also hosts forested on-site camping and offers plenty of outdoor recreation.
Over more than 40-year history, Telluride Jazz Festival hosted many legendary jazz musicians, like Muddy Waters, Glenn Miller Orchestra, Dizzy Gillespie, Chick Corea, Etta James, Herbie Hancock, Spyro Gyra, John Medeski, John Scofield, Ozomatli, Karl Denson, Jimmy Herring, The Greyboy Allstars, Charlie Hunter, Bill Frisell Trio, and others. Recently, the festival featured Yola, The Motet, Cory Wong, Terence Blanchard, Christian Scott, and others.
