Deer Shed is an annual family festival held at Baldersby Park, surrounded by beautiful North Yorkshire countryside. The three-day summer event features live music, comedy, theatre, and science. Deer Shed brings fun for all ages, from science experiments to sports activities, various workshops, and excellent food. A camping site with plenty of interesting options is available at Deer Shed: yurts, tipis, and vintage tents. Guests can also set up their own tents.
An independent and alternative festival, Deer Shed offers a diverse lineup of performers, like Nadine Shah, Dry Cleaning, Billy Nomates, Alfa Mist, Snapped Ankles, Yard Act, Pip Blom, Sinkane, Denise Chaila, The Lovely Eggs, Du Blonde, Katy J Pearson, Porij, CMAT, Bleach Lab, The Bug Club, Balimaya Project, Night Flight, Natalie McCool, Gaz Coombes, The Big Moon, This Is The Kit, BCUC, Dream Wife, Gwenno, Rae Morris, Plastic Mermaids, and Django Django.
The festival was initiated by Oliver and Kate Jones in 2010 as a perfect place to cater to the needs of families. To make sure the festival fulfills its goal, the Jones Children Approval Panel takes place each year. The festival grounds have a welfare and first aid tent, a kids' tent, an outdoor play area. a large kids' play area in the campsite, and plenty of things to keep kids occupied.
