Nancy Jazz Pulsations is a popular annual jazz festival taking place at various venues in Nancy, located in the northeastern French region of Grand Est. Nancy, the former capital of the Duchy of Lorraine, is known for its beautiful Medieval architecture. Every edition of Nancy Jazz Pulsations draws about 100,000 festival-goers. Held since 1973, Nancy Jazz Pulsations features free concerts, such as Nancy Jazz Poursuite or Pépinière en fête, as well as ticketed concerts.
For over two weeks, non-stop concerts are held throughout the Nancy area. The festival blends jazz, chanson française, blues, rock, electro, reggae, and world music, attracting renowned performers as well as up-and-coming stars. Nancy Jazz Pulsations promotes "up tempo" jazz, incorporating rhythms from hip hop, electronic music, afrobeat, and others. In the past, the festival featured Hania Rani, Nina Attal, Couple Chapiteau, Melanie de Biaso, Hoboken, Ibrahim Maalouf, Ilhan Ersahin, Bonga, Las Aves, Trombone Shorty, Asaf Avidan, Patrice, Rone, Chassol Nola, Moutin Factory, Seu Jorge and Almaz, Avishai Cohen, Raul Midon, John Butler Trio, Selah Sue, and Woodkid.
