Darlington Apple Festival is an annual community celebration held on the first Saturday of October in the small town of Darlington in northeastern Harford County. The beloved festival features family-friendly entertainment, like the corn hole tournament, hayrides, pony rides, artisans, farming produce vendors, delicious apple treats, live music, and the famous apple pie contest. The apple pie contest's winners are determined at noon at the Haybale Auditorium.
Darlington Apple Festival runs from 10 am to 5 pm, showcasing quality entertainment, art, and the amazing country market. Food is one of the major attractions of the festival. Visitors can indulge in various apple pies, apple fritters, apple dumplings., crumb cakes, and much more. Non-food vendors offer an exciting shopping experience with a wide choice of goods, from Thanksgiving decor to jewelry and hairpins.
Held since 1986, the Darlington Apple Festival celebrates the traditional culture of the Darlington Community and all things fall. The festival started with about 1,000 visitors and a square dance in the parking lot. Over the years, the event has grown to 50,000 attendees. The festival supports many local churches and non-profit organizations, such as Lion's Club.
