Darlington Apple Festival is an annual community celebration, held on the first Saturday of October in the town of Darlington in northeastern Harford County. The beloved festival features family-friendly entertainment, like the cornhole tournament, hayrides, pony rides, artisans, farming produce vendors, delicious apple treats, live music, and the famous apple pie contest.

Darlington Apple Festival runs from 10 am to 5 pm, showcasing quality entertainment, art, and the amazing country market. Food is one of the major attractions of the festival. Visitors can indulge in various apple pies, apple fritters, apple dumplings., crumb cakes, and much more. Non-food vendors offer an exciting shopping experience with a wide choice of goods, from Thanksgiving decor to jewelry and hairpins.
Contests
Several contests are annually held during the Darlington Apple Festival, with the main one being the apple pie contest. Apple pie contest has competitions in two categories, Double Crust and Crump Top, with contestants presenting home-baked goods they brought to Darlington United Methodist Church. Apple of Our Eye contest honors the most active and cherished members of the community. Cornhole tournament is a fairly recent tradition of the festival and is open to all ages.
Admission & Locations
Admission to the festival is completely free. The entire event takes place along the Shuresville Road, with some attractions near United Methodist Church, in Silver Park, and near local elementary school.
History & Charity Work
Held since 1986, the Darlington Apple Festival celebrates the traditional culture of the Darlington Community and all things fall. The festival started with about 1,000 visitors and a square dance in the parking lot. Over the years, the event has grown to 50,000 attendees. The festival supports many local churches and non-profit organizations, such as Lion's Club.
