NYBG Orchid Show 2024 in New York
Don't miss thousands of beautiful blooms forming an amazing installation
Dates: February 17–April 21, 2024
New York Botanical Garden Orchid Show reoccurs every spring. The picturesque Victorian-style Enid A. Haupt Conservatory, at the New York Botanical Garden in the Bronx, showcases thousands of stunning blooming orchids. A walk through this colorful display is an excellent way to warm up on a cold March day or evening. Since 2002, a famous Belgian florist Daniel Ost has been creating his “living sculptures” for the NYBG Orchid Show. Each living sculpture displays the large multi-color diversity of these tropical flowers while highlighting individual orchids so that the form of each flower stands out.
Being one of the leading floral artists in Europe and the world, Ost creates amazing large-scale artworks that perfectly suit the Victorian-style Conservatory, where color, form, and texture of the flowers complement the architectural design. In Belgium, Ost has been called “the Picasso of flower arranging.”
In the evenings a stroll through the NY Botanical Garden Orchid Show is accompanied by live music and performances, create a unique and spectacular atmosphere. Live Orchid Dancers add some motion to beautiful displays of orchids, roaming the Conservatory throughout the evenings. Curated Music by DJ X-RAY, who is known internationally for over 20 years, is another vibrant touch. His sets were created specifically for the Orchid Show NYC.
Finally, Conservatory Plaza Fire Pits offer cocktails and warm drinks to socialize, meet friends and have a good time.
