Music Lineup
The festival doesn't stick to one genre and offers a chance to explore Icelandic music in all its forms. From punk rock and heavy metal to soulful folk and rave electronic, the music selection has something for everyone. With each new edition, the event manages to showcase talented artists from all over the globe and the Land of Fire and Ice. This year's lineup features Air Jazz, eee gee, English Teacher, Gabríel Ólafs, UNE MISÈRE, Loverman, Monobloc, Wu-Lu, Charlotte Day Wilson, BEAR THE ANT, and many other famous and up-and-coming artists.
IA Conference (November 7–8, 2024)
If you're interested in the ins and outs of the music industry, consider grabbing a ticket to the Iceland Airwaves Conference, spanning over two days. The event features talks from major players in the field and panel discussions with food for thought. Ása Dýradóttir from Reykjavik Music City, David Fricke from Rolling Stones, and Lena Ingwersen are just some of the speakers at this year's conference.
Tickets
There are several ticketing options to choose from. The prices listed are the advance rates and will increase as the day of the event approaches. The advance one-day pass costs 12,900 Icelandic króna, while the three-day pass costs 18,900 Icelandic króna. To enhance your experience, consider buying a ticket upgrade on top of your ticket. At a price of 16,000 Icelandic króna, the upgrade gives you priority access and discounts at bars and restaurants of the festival.
If you'd like to attend the Iceland Airwaves conference as well, you can purchase a bundle for 39,900 Icelandic króna. A ticket for two days of the IA conference alone costs 12,900 Icelandic króna. A one-day pass to the conference costs 8,400 Icelandic króna. Separate tickets are required for some special events, like Emilíana Torrini's concert, Carl Craig's performance, and photography exhibitions.
Schedule
The shows at official venues begin at approximately 7 pm and span until 2 am. Performances, which take place off-venue, don't have regulated hours but normally end by 7-7:30 pm. Iceland Airwaves Conference is open during work hours of the day.
Locations & Venues
Iceland Airwaves shows annually take place in venues located in downtown Reykjavik. Performances unfold in the Art Museum, IA Center, and Gaukurinn Bar near the Art Museum. You can also visit Iðnó cafe, which is also considered a culture hub of the city, and Nasa Club. Lutheran Free Church provides a gorgeous historic backdrop for the festival's performances. All the venues are located at a walking distance from each other and are fairly easy to reach.
