Seymour, Wisconsin is called Home of the Hamburger because the world's first hamburger was served at the Seymour Fair of 1885. To commemorate the city's heritage, the annual Hamburger Fest is held in Seymour every August.
Hot Air Balloon Rally
The hot air balloon rally is the main highlight of this summer weekend event. The rally, which is held at Rock Ledge School grounds, usually runs on Friday and Saturday afternoons from 4 to 9 pm. The festivities feature a hot air balloon glow at approximately 6:30 pm on both days, as well as Saturday morning hot air balloon ascensions into the sky. In addition, kids can enjoy inflatable bounce houses and magic shows. Various food is available for purchase, including plenty of hamburgers, of course.
The festival, held since 1989, also features a car show and live music. Seymour, located in the heart of the dairy country, within about 15 mi (24 km) from Green Bay, is a perfect place for a summer weekend getaway with the family.
