Patagonian waterways overlooked by lush forests, snow-capped mountains, fjords, and ice fields are the top sailing destination in Chile. Besides the pristine natural scenery, you may also encounter marine fauna—namely dolphins, sea lions, and penguins. The most famous routes wind through the Straight of Magellan and Torres del Paine National Park. Another cruise departures from Puerto Mont set in the Chilean Lake District through Puerto Natales, and the route above all – around the Southern Patagonia Ice Field. The glacier occupies the vast area of 16,800 km² and is the second largest in the world remaining after the last ice age. Some cruises run year-round, but most are offered between September and April.​
