Petoskey, Michigan, is a beautiful town nestled on the shores of Little Traverse Bay on Lake Michigan. Petoskey 4th is a vibrant community festival featuring a parade and fireworks show over the waterfront.

The Fourth of July Celebration in Petoskey has been a cherished tradition for many decades. The festivities are presented by the Sunrise Rotary Club of Petoskey, The City of Petoskey, and other local organizations. It's a family-friendly event with fun activities for every age.

Grandpa Shorter’s Fourth of July Parade (July, 2024)

One of the main highlights is Grandpa Shorter’s Fourth of July Parade, which sets off at 6 pm in Downtown Petoskey. The best location to view the parade is either Mitchell Street or Lake Street. The line-up area for the parade is located near Petoskey High School. The parade goes down Mitchell Street, from Petoskey Street to Lake Street, and there the parade ends by the gazebo in Pennsylvania Park. The 4th of July Parade boasts over 50 units, like Petoskey High School Marching Band, Petoskey Steel Drum Band, and others.

The parade is followed by a live musical performance, which is usually started by the Petoskey Steel Drum Band. The performance takes place at 7 pm in Pennsylvania Park on Lake Street, near the gazebo.

Petoskey 4th of July Fireworks (July, 2024)

Petoskey 4th ends with a spectacular fireworks show at about 10:30 pm. Fireworks are launched along the shores of Little Traverse Bay. The best place to see the show is Bayfront Park. A concession stand will be open at Bayfront Park to provide food and drinks during celebration.

Ann Arbor Fireworks and Parades (June 14–July 4, 2024)

One of the most popular and eventful celebrations in the Michigan area takes place in Ann Arbor. Even though Ann Arbor is 254 miles (408 km) from Petoskey, the patriotic celebration in this city is worth it.
