New Year’s Eve is a highlight of the Perth calendar. Some of the most popular countdown events take place at Scarborough Beach Bar and Gloucester Park in East Perth. Spectacular fireworks over the Swan River and Rottnest Island on December 31 and an array of NYE parties across the city make the people of Perth spoilt for choice.
SNACK Festival
SNACK Festival has become an NYE tradition in Perth and one of the best countdown events in Western Australia. The massive musical event, which is held at Claremont Showgrounds in the western suburbs of Perth, features an awesome lineup of over 40 DJs on seven stages and plenty of surprises, like a snow park, foam party, an obstacle course, a silent disco, karaoke, and various attractions. Some of the rides you can hop on include the Twister, bumper cars, Top Gun, and the Hurricane. The festival attracts about 20,000 attendees annually and culminates with a vibrant NYE countdown and fireworks.
Tickets
The tickets are sold in several tiers and releases and are quickly sold out. The first and the earliest release costs $59.98, followed by the second release at $69.99. The third release costs $81.52, while the fourth is priced at $93.03. Tickets from the fifth release cost $99.95, but if you're attending with a group of 6 or more, you can get a 10% discount and purchase tickets for $90.50 per person. The final release costs $149.90. To enhance your experience, consider purchasing a VIP upgrade for $66.17.

The festival kicks off at 5 pm and closes at 1 am, after the final New Year's Eve countdown and an hour of celebration.
New Year's Eve Celebration & Fireworks at Elizabeth Quay
The sky above Perth is annually dotted with mesmerizing splashes of color as a result of the city's annual fireworks display at Elizabeth Quay. Starting from 5 pm and until after midnight, the quay and the nearby Barrack Square are filled to the brim with thrilling rides, scrumptious food offerings, midway games, and many other attractions. Families with children have a chance to witness an early fireworks display over the river at 8:30 pm, followed by a traditional pyrotechnic display at midnight.
Other Fireworks Displays
Besides Elizabeth Quay, you can witness a multitude of fireworks all across Perth. Gloucester Park annually hosts a midnight pyrotechnic show, together with pony rides, inflatables, and all sorts of family-friendly entertainment. City Beach, Mandurah at Western Foreshore, and Perth CBD are also known for their fireworks spectacular. NYE Cruises in Perth & Mandurah
New Year's Eve Cruise is a superb way to say goodbye to 2024. Captain Cook Cruises runs an 18+ Swan River journey with a buffet dinner and midnight fireworks over the Perth skyline. Drinks and DJ music will surely add some twist to the night! The entire experience lasts approximately 4.5 hours, from 8 pm until 12:30 am, and is completed with a champagne toast and a delicious dessert. Tickets cost $249 per person.
Approximately 46 miles (74 km) away from Perth, Pirate Ship Mandurah welcomes on board the crew of young and old to sail the high seas. The Pirate adventure takes them on a Christmas Lights Tour that culminates with the 9 pm fireworks. The cruise departs at 7:30 pm opposite 9 Mandurah Terrace and sails along the Mandurah Canal. Tickets cost $96 per adult, $60 for children 3 to 15 years old, and free for infants.
Those who don't enjoy partying with strangers can hire a private charter with Exclusive Charters or any other company. Entertainment, food, and drinks can be arranged upon request; thus, prices depend on the final deal. You can even party and dance on the boat, making this an unforgettable way to meet the New Year.
